Series of events on the Remembrance Day of Earthquake Victims and Disaster Resistance have been launched

Spitak catastrophic earthquake of 1988 united more than 113 countries of the world which extended a helping hand to the Armenian people to overcome the consequences of that catastrophic earthquake.

The lessons learnt from the consequences of Spitak earthquake formed a basis for the launch of serious structural, institutional and organizational changes.

On December 2-7 on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of Spitak earthquake 991 events, seminars and exercises will be held involving state governing system, local self-governing bodies and organizations with support and participation of MES rescuers in all the Provinces of the Republic and in Yerevan city and in 38 communities of the Republic exhibition of fire and rescue equipment will be held.

The events will be held in the bodies of state governing systems, general and higher educational institutions, which is an important step towards developing a disaster culture among the society.

Today on December 2 trainings and exercises have been held for the children and educational staff of N8 pre-educational institution of Armavir town of Armavir Province and employees of ''Official Bulletin'' CJSC of the Ministry of Justice and a practical training on the ''Implementation of Evacuation'' was held in N1 kindergarten of Ijevan town.
