Department of the Rescue Forces summarizes 2019

On January 16 consultation dedicated to the summary of the results of the 2019 activities of the Rescue Forces Department of the Rescue Service was held in the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Vrezh Gabrielyan, r/s General-Major, Director of the Rescue Service led the consultation.

Director of the Rescue Service noted that the summary of the results of 2019 should be the basis for the vision of the development of the rescue forces, as well as for raising the response productivity.

Tigran Petrosyan, r/s Colonel, Head of the Rescue Forces Department, made a report summarizing the result of the activities of the department in 2019. In the reporting period the Rescue Forces Department implemented actions in the following directions:

1. Prevention of emergency situations and elimination of consequences (Center for Implementing Rescue Activities of Special Importance of the Rescue Forces Department of the Rescue Service made 2042 exits),

2. Operative tactic preparedness,

3. International cooperation,

4. Readiness level provision of INSARAG teams,

5. Raising preparedness of Rescue Forces,

6. Improvement of legal and legislative basis,

7. Organization of the service,

8. Development of plans and projects.

In 2019, 163 rescuers of the Rescue Forces Department were encouraged, 3 rescue officers were inflicted to a disciplinary punishment.

Head of the Rescue Forces Department Tigran Petroryan summarized the report and represented suggestions towards organizing the activity of the Department more efficiently in 2020.

Director of the Rescue Service outlined those problems which are put before the Department of the Rescue Forces and mentioned the directions of development.

V. Gabrielyan highlighted improvement of professional knowledge based on the principle “teach to learn”, as well as the active cooperation with the Crisis Management State Academy.

Much importance was attached to visits to Fire and Rescue Squads in order to get acquainted with the activities being implemented on the spot.

In order to raise the efficiency of firefighting activitiies the issue of the reconstruction of hydrates was highlighted, which should be carried out in close cooperation with corresponding structures.

Director of the Rescue Service, particularly, emphasized the importance of the analysis of the implemented firefighting activities that would give a chance to assess the problems and avoid them in the future.
