Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department of the Rescue Service summarized 2019

On January 29 the consultation dedicated to summarizing the results of activities in 2019 Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department of the Rescue Service was held in the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the RA. The consultation was led by Hovhannes Yemishyan, r/s General, Deputy Director of the Service.

Deputy Director of the Service H. Yemishyan, coordinator the activities of the department, thanked the entire staff of Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department for implemented activities.

Armen Doshyan, r/s Colonel, Head of Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department made a report summarizing the result of the activities of the department in 2019.

In the reporting period the Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department implemented actions in the following directions:

a) Operational tactical training;
b) Participation in the events organized by the international organizations;
c) General preparation;
d) Emergencies prevention and elimination of consequences;
e) Development of plans and programs.

7 trainings on population protection in emergency situations were organized and conducted by Population Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction Department during 2019.

11 events on "Disaster Resistance Day" were held in a number of subject to departments, inspection bodies, as well as educational institutions.

Exemplary form and guidance for “Community Disaster Risk Management Plan” had been developed and sent to communities for the development and implementation by the Department.

“About defining the structure of disaster risk management plans and the process of developing those plans for regions, communities and organizations” the Government Draft Decision was developed.

Department presented a professional opinion on the laboratory testing of personal protective equipment and chemical reconnaissance equipment of 38 different organizations.

Department responded to 55 cases in 2019.
