Some roads are closed and difficult to pass in Armenia

The Ministry of ES of RA has informed that some roads are closed and difficult to pass in the Republic of Armenia․

Due to the weather conditions, we urge you to drive in case of absolute necessity.


The roadways leading from "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd fortress and to Kari lake in Aragatsotn province, Berd-Chambarak, Alagyaz-Artik roadways, intercommunity roadways of Aragats region of Aragatsotn province (snowstorm), Vardaghbyur-Musayelyan roadway of Shirak province and Alaverdi-Jiliza roadway of Lori province are closed. 

Vardenyats Pass, Vanadzor-Dilijan, Stepanavan turns, Vanadzor-Alaverdi, Vanadzor-Stepanavan roadways of Lori province, Aghvani-Tatev, Sisian-"Zanger" roadways of Syunik province are closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to pass for other types of vehicles.

All roadways of Syunik province, of Abovyan region roadways of Kotayk province, Jujevan, Noyemberyan-Ijevan roadways of Tavush province, the section called "Zuygaghbyur" of Gyumri-Bavra roadway, Lanjik-Gyumri, Amasia-Gyumri-Kaps, Artik-Mets Mantash (snowstorm) of Shirak province, intercommunity roadways of Aparan region (snowstorm), Alagyaz-Tsilkar of Aragatsotn province are difficult to pass.

Black ice is
noticed on Aragyugh-Buzhakan roadway of Kotayk province.

It is snowing in Shinuhayr and Gorayk villages of Syunik province.

There is snowstorm in Ashotsk, Amasia regions of Shirak province and in Jermuk region of Vayots Dzor province.

About Larsi

According to the information provided by the Department of Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and from the Department of Crisis Management Center of the Republic of North Ossetia of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, Stepantsminda-Larsi highway is closed for all types of vehicles. There are about 347 trucks on the Russian side.

Drivers are recommended to drive exclusively on winter tires.
