Minister Yeritsyan Visited Meghri and Agarak: Communities Issues were discussed

Continuing his working visit to Syunik region, TAES Minister Armen Yeritsyan, accompanied with Governor Surik Khachatryan, visited Meghri and Agarak.

TAES Minister held a meeting in Meghri with the participation of the Mayor of Meghri Arshavir Hovhannisyan, Mayor of Agarak Mkhitar Zakaryan, military commissar of Meghri, representatives of Police and Russian frontier troops.

During the meeting they discussed the issue of construction of the reservoir for irrigation in Meghri with capacity of 5 million cubic meters, the provision of garbage truck to community, the issue related to the removal of artesian water from the territory of the culture house, kindergarten and the park. It was also discussed the issue of providing a large fire engine to the local fire and rescue service for extinguishing forest fires in the region. The working group of the meeting also referred to the issue of building a new transformer station.

During the discussion of the problems related to the city Agarak, it was particularly mentioned the issue connected with the construction of the sports hall for the community.

ТАЕS Minister instructed the mayors to provide specific program and calculations regarding the issues raised at the meeting.

Note, that Minister Yeritsyan visited 5 communities of Syunik region, participating in the pilot program of community consolidation (Tatev Svarants, Tandzatap, Kashuni, Halidzor), met with local residents, discussed the communities consolidation program.

Responding to villagers’ questions, Minister Yeritsyan in particular noted, that the communities enlargement program will not create any complication related with the providing of documents for the villagers. “Each village will have its own leader, who will be authorized to provide references to local residents, and they do not have to go long distances for getting the necessary documents”,- said A. Yeritsyan.

Note, that on the second day of the working visit to Syunik region, TAES Minister will participate in the opening of Syunik Regional Crisis Management Center and the regional Council session.
