RA Minister of Emergency Situations Instructed National Center for Technical Safety to be More Vigilant and Strict: A Visit to Ararat region

RA Minister of Emergency Situations D. Tonoyan paid a working visit to Ararat region, toured the Regional Rescue Department, Crisis Management Center, the fire and rescue detachments, National Center for Technical Security, Hydrometeorological Service, regional subdivisions of State Fire and Technical Safety Inspection.

During the visit, the RA Minister of Emergency Situations visited the fire and rescue units of the urban communities of Artashat, Ararat and Vedi, where he got acquainted with the building and working conditions, the technical equipment and the current problems.

D. Tonoyan highlighted the regular re-trainings and professional development of firefighters, especially in the provision of first aid, so that every firefighter-rescuer could provide the victims with a full first medical aid before transferring them to the hospital.

The issues of improving the uniforms of the firefighters and rescuers and modernizing the detachments' equipment through modern equipment and devices provided by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation were also discussed.
During the tour, the ES Minister visited two stations of the Hydrometeorological Service, where issues on re-equipment and digitization of stations were also discussed.

In the regional subdivisions of RA MES Fire and Technical Safety Inspection and “National Center of Technical Safety” SNCO, Minister D. Tonoyan instructed to be more vigilant and rigorous in order to reduce the risk of man-made accidents.

During the meeting with community leaders, Minister Tonoyan mentioned the implementation of activities aimed at reducing disaster risk in communities through close cooperation with local authorities, noting that the best way is to include a component of DRR in the community budget.
